Privacy, in plain language.
DayRoamer uses the information needed to create your account and provide trip planning, place search, and travel guidance. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Information DayRoamer handles
- Account information: your email address, Firebase user ID, and authentication credentials or tokens. If you use Google sign-in, Google provides the account identity you approve.
- Trip and route inputs: destinations, dates, accommodation, activities, coordinates, timing, and travel modes that you submit for search, planning, and directions.
- Saved documents: ticket photos and files that you deliberately import. These are copied into DayRoamer's private app storage on your device and are not uploaded to DayRoamer servers.
- Technical data: limited network, request, error, and security information processed by our cloud and authentication providers to operate and protect the service.
How information is used
We use this information to authenticate your account, save your device-local trip library, search for places, calculate schedules and routes, retrieve place context you request, troubleshoot failures, enforce usage limits, and protect the service from misuse.
Where information is stored
Your trip library and imported documents are stored locally in DayRoamer's private app storage on each device. They are not synced between devices. Firebase Authentication stores the account needed for sign-in. Route and search requests are processed by DayRoamer's Google Cloud service. Short-lived in-memory caches may retain route or place results, and normal operational logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Service providers
DayRoamer uses Google Firebase for authentication and Google Cloud and Google Maps Platform for hosting, place search, maps, and route data. Wikimedia services are contacted only when you request available place context. Opening a route in Google Maps transfers that route to Google at your request. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Device permissions
DayRoamer requests camera or photo access only when you choose to photograph or import a travel document. It uses document access only for files you select. Network access is required for accounts, live place search, maps, and route information.
Deletion and retention
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account to delete your Firebase account, locally saved trips, and imported document copies from that device. You can also delete the online account at dayroamer.app/delete-account. A browser cannot erase files stored inside DayRoamer on another device; uninstall DayRoamer or clear its app data on that device to remove those local files.
Your choices
You can decline optional camera and photo permissions, remove individual saved documents, delete trips, sign out, or delete your account. If you need help, visit the DayRoamer support page.
Children
DayRoamer is a general travel-planning service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information.
Changes and contact
